Feel the warmth.

The cold weather continues, doesn't it?
Ashiya, too, has had a series of days with flurries of snow.
Plum tree buds are beginning to swell and we are looking forward to their blooming.

We have just received a new shipment of “Sometsuke” (underglaze blue) square pots from Yoichi Yamaguchi Studio, a pottery produced by a couple in Arita, Japan.
The white porcelain surface is decorated with pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms in gosu ink.
The bowl is moderately thick, and when you hold it in your hand, you can feel the warmth of its creator.
The dish is tall and has patterns on all four sides, which makes the food look more delicious when served.
Using Ko-Imari painted by nameless potters as a model, we used our own blended potter's clay and Kuresu glaze,
The couple does everything from making the cloth with a potter's wheel to painting.
The patterns of pine, bamboo, plum, and plants on the sides are painted with a gentle touch and give a sense of warmth even though they are ceramics.
